David Aubrey-Jones
I am a mineral and mining enthusiast, and particularly like Liroconite and other secondary copper arsenate minerals from Cornwall. I have been collecting minerals and exploring mines for some 20
years, and I concentrate on the the mines in Britain and the UK, particularly Devon and Cornwall.
On this site I have tried to focus on Liroconite, and to show it in its rightful place as a king among minerals.
Many sites just provide scientific data. Here I have attempted to show the beauty of the mineral and to provide interesting information beyond the scientific numbers.
Information Wanted
This site contains photographs of specimens from a number of collections, not just my own.
We would like to thank all those who have provided photographs, minerals to be photographed, and other information for this site.
This site is not complete and is still under construction.
I intend to continually update it. I would be very grateful for any further information and / or good photographs of Liroconite and other Cornish and Devon minerals that anyone can provide. I would also be particularly keen to recieve any old mining photographs, including photographs of the Wheal Gorland mineral dumps before they were carted away.
If you have any Liroconite specimens for sale, please let me know and I would be happy to insert a link to your site.
To contact me, please send me an email to: david@liroconite.com
